Dayna S. Williams-Hunter, M.Ed, CMC, is the elected City Clerk of Hawthorne, California, and a Certified Municipal Clerk pursuing her Master Municipal Clerk designation. With deep expertise in elections administration, public records, and Brown Act compliance, she has pioneered the use of AI tools to modernize the Clerk’s office and make local government more transparent, efficient, and accountable to residents. She is running for re-election in 2026 to continue building a modern, community-centered Clerk’s office that Hawthorne can trust.
There is a large population of people in our community who do not vote because they are in fear of having ICE deport them even if they are completely documented. I'd like to explore ways to get people comfortable with voting again.
